HMLC tuition

The Hearts and Minds Learning Community is committed to being up-front and transparent about how fees and tuition are spent. Currently, tuition covers:

  • Salaries of early childhood education lead and early elementary lead

  • Rent of our space in southwest Minneapolis

  • Insurance

  • Supplies (including business software, curriculum, printing and more)

** At HMLC, our goal is to run a self-sustaining program and be realistic about the costs of running a customized early childhood education program. HOWEVER, if you feel the HMLC program is a fit for you, but the tuition is out of reach, please contact us. We are committed to being a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization and we may be able to work out a plan that better fits your budget. **

  • The HMLC mixed-age kindergarten program begins September 9, 2024.

    This program is for learners ages 3-6. (HMLC offers a gradual and gentle transition to our mixed-age early elementary program for learners age 6 as they are ready)

    Two days/week program - $650/month

    Three days/week program - $850/month

    Five days/week program - $1,250/month

    HMLC families receive priority registration and placement for any summer programs and any future educational programs. There is also a 10 percent sibling discount available.

  • The HMLC early elementary program begins September 9, 2024.

    This program is a mixed-age classroom for learners ages 6-9. HMLC offers a gradual and gentle transition to our mixed-age early elementary program for learners age 6 as they are ready)

    Five days/week full early elementary programs - $1,250/mont

    Two days/week homeschool or online school hybrid program - $650/month
    *Your child must be registered as a homeschooler in their home school district OR enrolled in an online school to participate in this program. Find more information here.

    HMLC families receive priority registration and placement for any summer programs and future educational programs. There is also a 10 percent sibling discount available.

The HMLC program is open for enrollment as long as there are spaces available.

HMLC is not a childcare program and we do not have the facilities or personnel to perform diaper changes, so we ask that all learners be using the toilet reasonably reliably. Disposable training pants (such as Pull-Ups or similar) are fine.

As much learning as possible takes place outdoors. For any indoor time, masks are required. All learners must reliably be able to wear a mask.
